We hope you enjoy exploring these practices as they guide you towards a more connected, engaged, and balanced life.

Reclined Breath Wave

The movement of the in breath from belly to collarbones expands the thoracic cavity sequentially, engaging every muscle and organ responsible for breathing. This exercise reveals the natural wave-like bodily movements associated with breathing.

Resistance Breathing

Resistance Breathing allows us to more easily control the pace and rhythm of our breath in support of other breathing strategies. As you practice you will notice that your breaths naturally become slower and fuller.

Vocalization

Vocalizing is the easiest way to slow down the outgoing breath. Longer exhales calm us. In this exercise we will simply use the vowel sounds ah, a, and o. Try a few rounds, and then notice how you feel.

Rise & Shine

Dawn offers a simple practice of mindful sun salutes and standing poses. A gentle warm up helps activate the legs in the morning to start your day. This sequence can also be practiced in the afternoon as an antidote to sitting for work or a commute.



Back Body Activation Flow

Enjoy a new twist of traditional yoga movements to activate and strengthen the back of your body, including the hamstrings and shoulders! This all-levels class focuses on small variations in familiar poses that will challenge your body to get stronger (and more mobile) in new ways. A slow-flow class, this practice will ease you into movement, and then we’ll fire it up in moments where your body has to adjust to new loads and positions.

You’ll need 1-2 yoga blocks for this practice. Get curious and dig into the experience of breath and body!

Soak & Settle

Dawn Hayes offers a simple and accessible yoga practice for times where you need to move slow with support. A perfect stand alone sequence to end your evening and settle the activities of your day before going to bed.

This could also be used as a warm-up for a more rigorous yoga asana practice. You will find it helpful to have a blanket and a yoga mat for this sequence. Appropriate for all student levels.
